Reliance Mutual Member Payments - Claim before 31 March 2023

What are these payments?

On 1 April 2018, Reliance Mutual was sold and transferred to Utmost Life and Pensions (known then as Reliance Life). As part of this process, members agreed to give up their membership rights and became entitled to a compensation payment for doing so. Full details were communicated to all members at the time.

A large volume of the payments have been completed, with many made later in 2018, and we have continued to make payments since wherever we can.

Who is eligible for a member payment?

To be eligible, policyholders had to be a member of Reliance Mutual on the Qualifying Date of 31 December 2016. The payment consists of an amount based on the size of the policy held, and members with voting rights at the Qualifying Date, are also entitled to an additional fixed amount of £100 to compensate them for losing their voting rights.

Have you written to me about this payment?

We have contacted eligible policyholders wherever we hold contact details for them. However, it may be that we don't have an up to date address for you.
